Downtown Redevelopment Plan
Updates
5/27/25 - The CDA and GRAEF have announced a public open house and visioning session for July 29 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Union Grove Municipal Center. The open house will give community members a chance to provide input on priorities for revitalizing downtown, particularly along Main Street between Hwy 11 and Union Grove High School. A short presentation will be given at 6:00 and again at 7:00, with Village staff and GRAEF available for questions and feedback throughout the event.
3/11/25 - The Community Development Authority (CDA) has selected GRAEF as the planning consultant for the Village’s redevelopment plan. GRAEF brings experience working with Union Grove and a strong understanding of the community’s needs. The scope of work includes a full update to the 2005 plan, with a focus on downtown revitalization, economic development opportunities, and infrastructure improvements. Work on the plan is expected to begin in April.
2/11/25 - The Community Development Authority (CDA) is soliciting proposals for a planning consultant to assist with the creation of a redevelopment plan for Union Grove’s downtown and nearby areas. The most recent plan was completed in 2005. The updated plan will address underused and deteriorating properties, parking challenges, infrastructure needs, and opportunities for reinvestment. Proposals will be reviewed in the coming weeks.
