Village Treasurer-

Classification:    Salary/Exempt
Pay Range:   $59,000 – $88,000 +/- DOQ with excellent benefits package

The Village Treasurer performs the statutory duties of the municipal treasurer and is responsible for overseeing the Village's accounting and treasury operations. The Treasurer supervises the Deputy Treasurer, maintains the Village's financial records, coordinates the annual property tax collection and settlement process, administers Village investments and debt service, manages the annual audit process, assists with annual budget preparation, prepares financial reports, and ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, Wisconsin Statutes, and Village financial policies. The Treasurer works closely with the Village Administrator to maintain the Village's strong financial position while providing high-quality service to Village residents.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field. An associate's degree in Accounting or Finance with substantial municipal finance experience will also be considered. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in municipal accounting, treasury, finance, or governmental accounting. Wisconsin municipal finance experience is strongly preferred, and supervisory experience is desirable. Experience with governmental fund accounting, budget preparation, annual financial audits, tax collection, debt administration, and financial reporting is preferred. Experience with municipal financial software, including CIVIC Systems, is preferred. Completion of the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks & Treasurers Institute (CTI) and/or certification through the Municipal Treasurers Association of Wisconsin (MTAW) is preferred but not required.
