Village Accepting Applications to Fill Village Board Vacancy

Are you interested in serving the community by being a member of the Union Grove Village Board? Due to a recent vacancy, the Village of Union Grove is currently accepting applications for Village Trustee. Applications will be accepted until August 20^th at 4:30pm. All applicants will be asked to appear for an interview with the Village Board at a date and time to be determined.

The vacant seat will be filled by appointment of the Village Board in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes. The term of the appointment will expire in April 2026.

To apply, please complete the application form. A paper copy can be made available at the Village Offices (925 15th Ave.). Completed applications must be submitted no later than 4:30pm on August 20^th to the Village Clerk at 925 15th Ave., Union Grove, WI 53182 or by email to skohlhagen@vi.uniongrove.wi.gov.

About the Village Board

Village Board members make policy decisions, adopt ordinances, approve the annual budget, and act in the best interest of the Village. Regular Village Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. Trustees typically serve on 3 to 5 committees that meet monthly, as well as the Board of Review, which meets at least once a year. Trustees receive an annual salary of $6,300, paid in monthly installments.

Appointment Process

The Village Board will interview applicants in Open Session. The process will be as follows:

• Each applicant may give a brief (optional) presentation of up to five minutes. Presentation order will be determined by random drawing.
• Village Board members will ask questions of each applicant.
• Following the interviews, the Village Board will vote on the appointment in Open Session.
