Deputy Treasurer/Utility Clerk- Job Description

Classification:   (Full time) Non-Exempt
Pay Range:   $22.34 – $33.48/hour DOQ 

The Village of Union Grove is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable professional to join our team as Deputy Treasurer/Utility Clerk.

This position works closely with the Village Treasurer and plays an important role in the Village’s day-to-day financial operations. Responsibilities include utility billing, tax collection, processing payments, financial reporting and reconciliations, maintaining customer and financial records, assisting with audits, and providing customer service to residents. The position also provides general administrative support and assists with building permits, licenses, committee minutes, and other Village operations.

We are looking for someone who is organized, comfortable working with numbers and technology, and able to provide friendly and professional service to the public. The successful candidate should be able to manage multiple responsibilities accurately, exercise good judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.

Qualifications

An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field is preferred. Two years of experience in municipal finance, utility billing, or a related administrative position is strongly preferred. Strong customer service, communication, technology, and organizational skills are essential.
