Village Board Approves Three-Year Police Services Agreement with RCSO
The Village Board approved terms for a three-year agreement with the Racine County Sheriff’s Office covering 2027–2029. The agreement provides 7,000 hours of dedicated deputy coverage annually, with a 2027 contract cost of $545,359.50.
The Sheriff’s Office will also move the Village’s “power shift” to third shift. This change will provide a deputy on duty from 3–6 a.m., instead of having two deputies on duty from 7–10 p.m., extending dedicated coverage into the early morning hours.

Village trick-or-treating will take place Friday, October 31, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. Residents handing out treats should turn on their porch lights. Drivers should use extra caution and watch for children crossing streets.

Fall Leaf Collection
Residents may begin raking leaves to the edge of the road on October 12. Public Works will collect leaves periodically beginning around mid-October and continuing through the week before Thanksgiving. The October 12 date is for placing leaves out and does not guarantee collection that week. Please set out leaves only. Branches and other debris can damage the leaf collection equipment.
New Fire Station Progress
Construction of the new Union Grove-Yorkville fire station continues. At its September meeting, the UG-Yorkville Fire Commission received a report from its project manager listing the project as approximately 80% complete.
